Green Genmaicha Tea – ORGANIC
€ 4,15 – € 16,60
INCL. VAT
Origin: Japan (organic)
- 3gr/200ml
- 75°C
- 2-3 min infuse
This green tea with roasted, brown rice grains from the Japanese province of Kyushu has a roasted, sweet taste. The brown rice grains balance the well-known bitterness of green tea. The coarse, light green, flattened leaves result in a bright and light drink with a warm, full taste reminiscent of nuts. During roasting, some rice grains explode, which is why this tea is sometimes called popcorn tea. This Japanese green tea used to be considered a folk tea, because it is usually cheaper, as the rice replaced the weight of the more expensive green tea. Today this is still a classic in all walks of life traditionally served in Japan as “wine” with meals.
Green tea has a high content of protective polyphenols or antioxidants that are known to protect the body from diseases and are an important part of a healthy diet. As part of a balanced diet, green tea can be a good source of antioxidants!

Some Tips
Because of its delicate, vegetal taste, Genmaicha tastes very good with dishes with a lighter taste such as fish or consequence, but also with irritated chicken or turkey to remove the greasy aftertaste.
Tip: Combine genmaicha with sushi: sublime with the sweet taste of the rice and the slightly fatty tuna or salmon.
