This high-quality, black tea comes from Hunan Province in China and has a strong, heartwarming taste. In order not to let this tea become too bitter, it is good to respect the maximum draught time. Black tea is also made from the Camilia Sinensis just like green tea, but is oxidized. This leads to the brown-red color. Black tea is also called red tea in China, because of the color of the infusion. Black tea usually has a longer shelf life than green tea, which usually loses its flavour after two years. That is why black tea has been exported to Europe for hundreds of years and formed the basis for many well-known blends such as Earl Grey (check out our tips for DIY recipe!). Even today, black tea still accounts for the largest percentage of tea exports.
Black tea has a strong taste and contains more caffeine and tannins than green tea. It can therefore perfectly guide real coffee lovers to take the step to tea. It is a nice idea to compare this tea with our black tea from Sri Lanka!
